For everyone who spends all day typing

Developers, writers, students, note-takers, and desk-setup people who want their Mac keyboard to feel a little more alive — without changing hardware.

Recorded Sound Packs

Creamy, clacky, thocky, bubble, normal, plastic, marbly, poppy, clicky, typewriter, and Morse tones — generated from real keyboard recordings. Switch packs instantly from the menu bar.

Per-Key Sample Assignment

Open the Keys editor, click any key on a full keyboard layout, and cycle through the samples in the active pack. Want Space deeper than A, or Enter to hit differently? You decide.

Mixer & Presets

Balanced, soft, deep, crisp, and calm presets — plus pitch, bass, brightness, echo, reverb, ducking, repeat, release, and modifier controls to dial in exactly the feel you want.

Diagnostics

Check audio output, Input Monitoring, keyboard listener status, and playback decisions when typing sounds need a quick tune-up.

Menu Bar Controls

A compact popover for quick preview, mute timers, volume, effects, and sound switching — always one click away.

Custom Sound Packs

Import your own packs as local .thockpack, .zip, or folder bundles. Make your board sound like anything you can record.

Everything Stays on Your Mac

No accounts. No analytics SDKs. No ad SDKs. No server. Uninstall and it's gone.

KeyThock uses macOS Input Monitoring only to detect key press timing and key identity for sound playback. It does not store what you type, reconstruct words, read your clipboard, take screenshots, log raw key events, or send keystrokes to a server. Settings and imported sound packs are stored locally.
