Set up a clearer personal listening session

Choose a quiet position, begin at a low level, and treat recording or transcription as a deliberate privacy decision.

5 min read

Personal listening tools work best when the physical setup reduces noise before software tries to improve it. SuperHear provides real-time listening and local audio tools; it is not a hearing aid or medical device.

Improve the position first

Move closer to the sound you want, reduce nearby noise where possible, and place the iPhone microphone with a clear path. Confirm the selected output device before starting.

Raise levels gradually

Begin low and increase only until speech or detail becomes easier to follow. Avoid sudden loud sounds and stop if listening becomes uncomfortable, distorted, or tiring.

Record only with permission

Use recordings and transcripts only where consent and local law allow. Review, export, or delete local files deliberately. Seek a hearing professional for persistent hearing concerns or guidance on clinical devices.
