QnVoice Privacy Policy

This policy describes the QnVoice app from QnSub Tech. QnVoice clones voices, translates conversations, and applies voice effects on your device. You do not need an account. The app has no audio-upload server, advertising, or analytics. QnSub does not receive your recordings, cloned voices, or in-app usage data.

Recording and voice cloning

QnVoice requests microphone permission when you record a voice sample or take, or open Super Translator. You can also import a recording to make a clone. Before cloning, you confirm that the voice is yours or that you have the speaker's permission. QnVoice cannot verify the speaker's identity or whether permission was given.

The voice sample, derived speaker data, time of the permission confirmation, and sample fingerprint are encrypted on your device with a key specific to that voice. Voice models, recordings, and saved voice versions use iOS file protection and are excluded from device backups. The voice's key is held in the device Keychain and does not leave the device.

Speech recognition, text, and translation

Typed text is spoken using on-device speech and converted into the chosen voice. When a feature transcribes a recording, QnVoice uses on-device speech recognition. It does not fall back to server recognition. Recognition depends on permissions and supported languages. Typed input does not require speech recognition.

Most language voices use Apple's on-device translation and speech. Filipino, Bengali, and Urdu features use bundled models for some translation or speech processing. Apple may download supported language and speech assets during setup. Downloading those assets does not upload the text or audio you enter in QnVoice.

Saved phrases may retain original and converted audio, typed text, transcripts, translations, favorites, and voice controls locally. Editing a transcript clears the affected cached translation and Morse versions so they can be regenerated without altering the original recording. The separate Morse editor clears its temporary working audio when closed.

Super Translator conversations

Super Translator uses a bundled Whisper model for local recognition and language detection. Translation runs through installed Apple models or bundled models, sometimes using English as an intermediate language. The microphone pauses during translated playback. No conversation audio or text is uploaded.

Conversation text stays in memory, and temporary recordings and spoken translations use protected local storage. The mode keeps up to 50 turns and clears them when closed or when you start a new conversation. Pausing, backgrounding, and audio interruptions stop capture. Conversation turns are not automatically saved to Phrases. Temporary files left by an interrupted session are cleared at the next launch.

Privacy choices and deleting data

• Delete a voice: Remove it from Voices to remove its key, sample, derived data, and phrase versions generated with it.
• Delete a phrase: Remove it from Phrases to remove its recording and all generated versions. An unsaved Speak take is replaced by the next take or cleared when the app restarts.
• Clear all app data: Use Settings > Reset to factory settings to clear local voices, phrases, and settings. Deleting the app also removes its files. Physical erasure of flash storage cannot be guaranteed.
• Change permissions: You can revoke microphone or speech-recognition access in your device's Settings. This does not delete previously saved data.

Resetting QnVoice does not remove Apple's transaction records or copies shared outside the app. There is no QnVoice account or server-side voice library to delete.

Purchases, updates, and sharing

Apple processes payment information and purchase restoration. QnVoice uses verified App Store transactions to recognize Pro access and does not receive your payment credentials. The optional update check sends the app bundle identifier to Apple's lookup service. These connections do not send recordings or cloned voices.

When you share text or audio, the recipient or app you choose may keep it independently of QnVoice. The in-app Contact the developers link opens Discord, where Discord's policies apply. Information you post there may be visible to others. Do not post recordings or sensitive personal information.

Responsible use and contact

Clone only your own voice or a voice you have permission to use. Do not use a clone to deceive or impersonate someone. For questions or concerns, email appsupport@qnsub.com. We use the information you choose to send to respond to your request.

Changes to this policy will be published here with a new effective date. The privacy screen in QnVoice describes the installed version.
