EngineEar Privacy Choices

Controls for recordings, vehicle records, photos, exports, purchases, backups, and local deletion.

Updated: October 3, 2026
App: EngineEar (com.qnsub.engineear.app)
Contact: appsupport@qnsub.com

There is no QnSub data profile to manage.

EngineEar has no QnSub account or developer backend and does not upload your recordings, vehicle records, photos, or acoustic results to QnSub.

Delete a test or vehicle

Use EngineEar's delete controls to remove a test and its retained audio, or delete a vehicle and its associated local records. Review the confirmation carefully because deleted local records may not be recoverable.

Control saved audio

Use EngineEar's recording-retention setting and per-test controls to decide which supported audio is kept. Saved engine audio remains local and is excluded from normal device backups.

Control inspection photos

EngineEar can access only the photos you deliberately select with Apple's photo picker. Remove a photo or its inspection record inside the app when you no longer want it stored in EngineEar.

Reset EngineEar

Use Settings > Reset to Factory Settings to delete EngineEar's local app records and restore default app state. This includes local vehicle, test, audio, result, inspection, photo, service, and preference records maintained by the app.

Manage exports

EngineEar shares nothing automatically. When you export, the system share sheet lets you choose the destination. Delete the exported PDF, WAV, JSON, or CSV from that destination or ask its provider or recipient to remove it. Resetting EngineEar cannot recall a file that has already left the app.

Manage backups

Other local EngineEar records may be present in Apple-controlled device or iCloud backups even after an in-app reset. Review your Apple device and backup settings to manage those copies. QnSub cannot access or delete them.

Manage the PRO purchase

EngineEar PRO is handled through the App Store. Apple controls payment credentials, transaction history, refund requests, and Apple Account records. Restoring a purchase asks Apple to validate the entitlement; it does not restore deleted EngineEar vehicle or test data.

Microphone permission

Manage EngineEar's microphone permission in system Settings. Turning it off prevents new engine recordings until permission is granted again. EngineEar does not have location or contacts permission and does not request App Tracking Transparency permission.

Need help?

Email appsupport@qnsub.com with “EngineEar Privacy Choice” in the subject. Do not send sensitive vehicle records or audio unless support asks for a specific item and you choose to share it. Since QnSub does not receive EngineEar app data, support cannot remotely erase data stored only on your device, with Apple, or at an export destination.
