Camera media stays on your device. Optional AI features process only the text and settings you submit.

StudioBlur is a camera and creator-assistance app from QnSub. Camera effects, face detection, person segmentation, and media rendering are performed on your device. StudioBlur does not require an account, show third-party ads, or track you across apps or websites.

Some optional AI features send the text you provide, creator-profile settings, and limited service data to QnSub's service so an AI response can be generated. Photos, videos, camera frames, microphone audio, face data, and speech recordings are not sent to QnSub or OpenAI for these AI features.

Information we collect

When you use an optional AI feature, QnSub may collect:

  • Other user content: text you enter or select for an AI request, such as your profession, audience, goal, tone, language, extra context, creative direction, prior idea titles, panel text, or teleprompter text.
  • Device identifiers: an app-generated identifier used to grant Basic AI credits, and an Apple App Attest key or attestation used to confirm that requests come from a genuine instance of StudioBlur. StudioBlur does not use IDFA.
  • Purchase history: signed App Store transaction information needed to verify an entitlement and grant AI credits. QnSub does not receive your payment-card details.
  • Product interaction: AI credit grants, reservations, use, and service limits needed to operate the feature and prevent duplicate grants.
  • Diagnostics: limited request, response-status, error, route, and security metadata recorded by the service provider. These records may be associated with the App Attest identifier used for the request.

This information is used to deliver and personalize requested AI results, verify purchases, manage AI credits, prevent fraud or abuse, protect the service, and diagnose failures. It is not used for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

AI processing and service providers

AI requests pass through a QnSub service hosted by Cloudflare and are processed using OpenAI's API. QnSub sends OpenAI only the text and settings needed to generate the result. QnSub configures API requests with storage disabled and does not maintain its own database of AI prompts or generated responses.

OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models by default unless the API customer opts in. Its default abuse-monitoring logs may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days. Cloudflare Workers logs are retained for a plan-dependent period of up to seven days. Learn more from OpenAI's API data controls, OpenAI's Privacy Policy, and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

AI output can be incomplete or inaccurate. Do not enter sensitive personal, confidential, medical, legal, financial, or other information that you do not want processed by these providers.

Camera, microphone, Photos, and face data

StudioBlur requests camera access to preview and record videos or photos with background effects, overlays, lighting controls, and optional face smoothing. It requests microphone access to record audio and, when you choose, provide speech input. It requests Photos access to select backgrounds or logos and save finished media.

StudioBlur uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to detect a face area and person outline in live camera frames. These temporary results are used only to render optional face smoothing and background effects. StudioBlur does not create faceprints, biometric identifiers, recognition profiles, or identity-matching data. Face results are discarded after each frame and are not uploaded or retained by QnSub.

Photos, videos, and audio you capture remain on your device unless you choose to share them through iOS. Files saved to the Photos library are controlled through iOS and the Photos app.

Speech recognition

When you choose speech input, StudioBlur uses Apple's Speech framework to convert speech to text. Depending on the language, device, and Apple's service availability, Apple may process the audio. StudioBlur does not send that audio to QnSub, Cloudflare, or OpenAI. Apple's handling of that data is governed by Apple's privacy policy and system settings.

Nearby-device connections

StudioBlur can connect to a Mac or companion iPhone over your local network. That connection is direct between nearby devices. QnSub does not relay or retain the camera stream.

Information stored on your device

StudioBlur stores settings, creator-profile choices, saved ideas, teleprompter or panel content, and entitlement state locally. An app-generated Basic-credit identifier and some entitlement markers may be stored in the iOS Keychain, which can persist after the app is uninstalled. Finished media is stored in Photos only when you choose to save it or enable auto-save. If iCloud Backup is enabled, Apple may include local app data and Photos items according to your device settings; QnSub does not receive that backup.

Retention and deletion

AI prompts and generated responses are not kept in a QnSub application database. Provider security and diagnostic logs may be retained for the periods described above. App Attest registration records, purchase-verification records, and AI credit ledgers are retained as needed to operate entitlements, prevent repeated grants or abuse, and protect the service.

Deleting StudioBlur removes its app-container data. Media saved in Photos must be deleted separately. Keychain identifiers and server-side entitlement, security, or credit records may remain. To request access to or deletion of information held by QnSub, email the address below. Some records may be retained when necessary for security, fraud prevention, transaction integrity, or legal compliance.

Sharing, advertising, and tracking

QnSub shares information with Cloudflare and OpenAI only as service providers for the purposes described above. StudioBlur does not sell personal information, include third-party advertising SDKs, or track users across apps or websites. QnSub may disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect users, the service, or QnSub's legal rights.

When you tap Share, StudioBlur opens the native Apple share sheet. You choose the recipient or service; its privacy terms apply after you share the file.

Children

StudioBlur is not directed to children under 13, and QnSub does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child submitted information through an AI request, contact QnSub.

Changes to this policy

QnSub may update this policy as StudioBlur or its service providers change. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
