The fastest way to reach the SitPose team is by email. We read every message and reply within a few business days.
When emailing, it helps to include:

- The SitPose version (Settings → About in the app)
- A short description of your setup (how you propped the phone) and what happened
- Screenshots if anything looks visually wrong
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the questions we hear most often.
Does SitPose record or upload video?
No. During a session the live camera view is shown on your own screen with a posture skeleton over it, but each frame is analyzed on-device by Apple's Vision framework and discarded immediately — nothing is ever recorded, saved, or uploaded, and the app makes no network calls in its core product. An optional blur can hide your face while keeping the skeleton sharp. See the privacy policy for details.
Do I need an account?
No. SitPose has no account system and no server. Open the app, go through a short onboarding, prop your phone, and start a session. Everything is stored locally on your device.
How should I set up my phone?
Prop your phone to your side so it sees your profile — either upright in a stand (portrait) or propped on its side (landscape). The classic slouch and "tech neck" signals are only clearly visible from the side. A live on-screen guide helps you frame yourself before the session starts. For long sessions, a stand and a charger are ideal.
Why does SitPose need to stay open with the screen on?
iOS does not allow apps to use the camera in the background. So SitPose runs as a focused, screen-on work session, showing your live posture with a skeleton overlay while it watches. This constraint is also why your stats are clean and session-based instead of vague all-day numbers. For long sessions, a stand and a charger are ideal.
What is calibration, and why do I do it each session?
At the start of a session, SitPose asks you to sit up straight for about three seconds and captures your baseline posture. Every alert is a deviation from your own good posture rather than a one-size-fits-all rule — so it adapts to your chair, desk, and how you're propped that day.
It nudges me too often / not enough.
Open Settings and adjust sensitivity — neck and torso can be tuned independently between strict, balanced, and relaxed. There's also a short grace period before any alert fires, so a quick reach for your coffee won't nag you. If a specific signal bothers you, you can toggle individual signals (slouch, forward head, lean, too close) on or off.
Can I get reminders silently in a shared office?
Yes. In Settings you can choose your cue: a gentle sound, a spoken reminder, or silent haptics only. Haptic strength is adjustable too. Pick silent-but-vibrate for shared spaces.
The timer paused on its own — is that a bug?
No, that's by design. If no one is detected for a few seconds — say you stepped away — SitPose auto-pauses monitoring and the session timer, then resumes when you return. This keeps your "percent in good posture" honest instead of padding it with an empty chair. If it pauses while you're still there, check that you're framed from the side and well lit.
What are the stand-up reminders?
Separate from posture, SitPose can give you a subtle nudge to stand up or walk every X minutes, on an interval you set. It's a soft chime or haptic, not an alarm, and it tracks how many breaks you took during the session.
Does SitPose work without internet?
Yes — everything works fully offline. Posture detection, alerts, and stats all run on-device, and the core app makes no network requests at all.
How do I back up my data, or move it to a new phone?
SitPose stores everything in the app's local container. iCloud Backup includes it as part of the normal iPhone backup, so restoring a new iPhone from that backup restores your sessions and settings with it.
How do I delete everything?
Uninstall SitPose. iOS removes the app's data container along with the app. Because there's no server, there is nothing else to delete.
I want a refund.
App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Request a refund through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Where can I read the privacy policy?
The full policy is at /sitpose/privacy. Short version: no video is recorded, everything stays on your iPhone, no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no server.
