KeyStrike Privacy Policy
The short version: everything stays on your Mac.
Effective: 2026-05-28

This is a plain-English explanation of what KeyStrike does with your data. The short version: everything stays on your Mac. QnSub Tech does not run a server, does not have an account system, and does not ship analytics or advertising SDKs.
What KeyStrike stores
All of the following is stored locally inside the app's macOS sandbox container:
- Game results — every completed game's WPM, accuracy, mode, difficulty, timestamp, mistyped keys, and per-mode personal bests. Saved as JSON.
- Achievements — which of the twelve achievements you've unlocked.
- Settings — your selected theme, key-click style, sound effects toggle, music toggle, master volume, default difficulty, and font choice. Stored in macOS UserDefaults.
Exact location on disk:
~/Library/Containers/com.choloasis.keystrike/Data/Library/Application Support/Keystrike/stats.json~/Library/Containers/com.choloasis.keystrike/Data/Library/Preferences/com.choloasis.keystrike.plist
Network and analytics
KeyStrike does not make a single network request. There is no telemetry, no crash reporter SDK, no analytics, no auto-update check, and no fetched content. The app runs entirely offline.
Permissions
KeyStrike does not ask for any privacy-sensitive permissions. The app does not access:
- Camera or microphone
- Photos library
- Contacts, Calendar, or Reminders
- Location
- Files outside its own sandbox container
KeyStrike runs inside Apple's App Sandbox with no special entitlements beyond the sandbox itself.
Keyboard input
KeyStrike uses standard SwiftUI text fields and an in-app key event monitor that fires only while a tutorial window is in the foreground. The monitor exists so tutorials can detect shortcuts like ⌘C, ⌘V, ⌘Z, ⌘S, ⌘F. The captured keystrokes are evaluated in memory to drive the tutorial state machine — they are not logged, stored, or transmitted.
What we do not do
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
- We do not use analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Firebase, no Amplitude, etc.).
- We do not use advertising SDKs.
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone.
- We do not have a server collecting your data.
- We do not require you to create an account.
- We do not use any third-party SDKs.
Deleting your data
Because everything is local, dragging KeyStrike to the Trash deletes everything. macOS removes the app's sandbox container along with the app. There is nothing on a server to delete.
If you only want to clear your stats but keep the app installed, open Settings → Reset Stats inside KeyStrike and confirm.
iCloud backup
If you back your Mac up to iCloud or Time Machine, your KeyStrike data is part of that backup — same as any other app. Restoring your Mac from a backup restores KeyStrike's data along with it. QnSub Tech does not see or have access to this data.
Children
KeyStrike is suitable for children. There are no accounts, no chat, no user-generated content, no ads, no in-app purchases, no links to the web, and no third-party SDKs. Word lists are curated and kid-safe. The Code Snippets mode uses ordinary public-domain code samples and is tagged as advanced.
Changes to this policy
If the privacy practices change, we'll update this page with the new effective date. Material changes (e.g., adding a backend) will be highlighted at the top.
