Humans VS AI 2100 is not a lane defense game. Your units can move across the battlefield, the Legion keeps producing machines, and surviving a wave does not win the mission. The first shore teaches the rhythm that carries through the full campaign: stabilize, read, counter, then push.
Build enough power before you build everything else
Facilities, towers, and production all depend on a stable base. Start with the economy the briefing expects, then add only the unit production you can keep supplied. A half-built collection of structures is weaker than one reliable production line.
Use Hold before your army becomes a crowd
Select units and place them where multiple approaches meet. Hold keeps the formation near the position instead of letting it chase one machine into a bad fight. It is especially useful while a tower finishes construction or fresh units arrive from the yard.
Read the mission intel
The briefing names the machines expected in the next fight and the tools that counter them. Use the Codex when a new silhouette appears. The campaign introduces one human unit per mission, so each new unlock is meant to answer a real battlefield problem.
Break production before targeting the core
The Rust Legion Overcore cannot be damaged while its production buildings remain. Move your army toward one factory, hangar, or dock at a time. Destroying one closes that entrance permanently, reducing the pressure before the final push.
Spend research on the failure you can name
If the line collapses, improve defense or logistics. If you survive but cannot finish, strengthen the army branch that carries the push. Permanent research works best when it solves a specific repeatable problem instead of spreading points evenly.
Let the results screen teach the next attempt
Review the core timeline, top defenders, and the counter suggested after battle. Then change one decision on the replay. A better opening, earlier tower, or cleaner focus order often matters more than simply producing more units.
