This is a plain-English explanation of what EscapeLoop does with your data. The short version: everything stays on your device. QnSub does not run a server, does not have an account system, and does not ship analytics or advertising SDKs.
What we collect
Nothing. We have no servers that receive your data, and the app contains no analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs. We cannot see how you use the app.
What EscapeLoop stores on your device
To do its job, the app saves the following locally on your iPhone or iPad. It is never uploaded to us or anyone else:
- Your tasks, and your “Why” photo and message.
- Focus history and in-app activity counts.
- Settings, unlock limits, and cooldown state.
Some of this (your settings and limits, plus a compact copy of your tasks and “Why”) is also kept in the device’s secure Keychain so it can survive reinstalling the app. That copy stays on your device and is never transmitted.
Screen Time (Family Controls)
EscapeLoop uses Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls framework to shield the apps and categories you choose:
- Your selection is handled by iOS using opaque tokens. The app cannot read the names of the specific apps you pick, and it cannot see your detailed usage statistics.
- This information is managed by the operating system on your device and is not sent to us.
- Granting Screen Time permission is optional, but shielding requires it. You can revoke it any time in iOS Settings, or from EscapeLoop’s Reset to Factory Settings.
Notifications
EscapeLoop may schedule local notifications on your device (for example, when a temporary unlock ends). These are generated and delivered on-device; no notification content is sent to a server.
What we do not do
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
- We do not use analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, etc.).
- We do not use advertising SDKs.
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone.
- We do not run a server that collects your data.
- We do not require you to create an account.
Deleting your data
You are always in control:
- Settings → Clear All Local Data erases your tasks, “Why”, focus history, and settings from the device, including the Keychain backup.
- Settings → Reset to Factory Settings does all of the above and also removes EscapeLoop’s Screen Time permission, returning the app to a brand-new state.
- Deleting the app removes its on-device data. Note: items kept in the Keychain can persist across a reinstall by design — use Clear All Local Data or Reset to Factory Settings for a truly fresh start.
Security
Because your data never leaves your device, it is protected by your device’s own security. Sensitive persistence uses the iOS Keychain.
Children
EscapeLoop does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. There are no accounts, no chat, no user-generated content shared with others, no ads, and no third-party SDKs.
Changes to this policy
If our privacy practices change, we will update this page with a new effective date. Material changes (for example, adding a backend) will be highlighted at the top.
