Check the compass before relying on it
Move away from magnets, metal structures, speakers, and vehicle mounts that can disturb the sensor. Compare the heading with a known landmark or map and follow any calibration prompt.
Save context with the waypoint
Name the location clearly and confirm it on the map. Note a visible landmark, route choice, or access point so the coordinate is not your only reference.
Navigate with layers
Cross-check bearing, distance, map position, trail or road signs, and real surroundings. Share location only with people you trust. For remote or safety-critical travel, carry appropriate backup navigation and follow official guidance.
