What devices does CompassOne support?
CompassOne is built for iPhone on iOS 17 or later. Some features depend on device sensors, location services, camera access, and Apple platform support.
Why does CompassOne ask for location access?
Location access is used for True North, coordinates, saved places, map position, Find My Car, Go-To Arrow, and sharing your location when you choose to share it.
Why does CompassOne ask for camera access?
Camera access is used for Field Lens overlays that place bearing, route, and level guidance over the live camera view. The app should ask only when you open a camera feature.
Why does CompassOne ask for motion access?
Motion access helps with tilt, level, and compass display stability. Motion readings are used for the live app experience and are not uploaded to QnSub.
Why is my heading unstable?
Compass readings can be affected by magnets, vehicles, metal, buildings, electronics, device tilt, and sensor conditions. Try moving outdoors, away from metal and electronics, and recalibrate if iOS asks.
Does CompassOne need an account or internet connection?
No account is required. Compass, heading, saved waypoints, bearing math, coordinates, and local tools are designed to work offline. Map tiles, Apple services, and App Store purchase behavior may require a network connection.
Is CompassOne certified for emergency navigation?
No. CompassOne is a general navigation aid, not a certified marine, aviation, military, or emergency navigation instrument. Use proper judgment and backup navigation tools in remote or hazardous environments.
