This is a plain-English explanation of what Workbench does with your data. Workbench is a local macOS utility designed to help you browse, preview, organize, clean up, and work with files on your Mac.

Data collection

Workbench does not include analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, account tracking, cloud sync, or background uploads. QnSub Tech does not receive your files or app activity by default.

Files

Workbench reads and modifies files only when you choose folders, select files, or run file tools. Your files stay on your Mac unless you move, copy, share, export, or upload them yourself through another app or service.

Local app data

Workbench may store local app data in your macOS user account so it can restore your workspace and make everyday file work faster. This can include:

  • Preferences - app settings, layout choices, view modes, and recent workflow state.
  • Bookmarks - folders you add to the sidebar or grant access to through macOS file pickers.
  • Notes and snippets - content you save inside the app, including text, file references, and attachments you choose.
  • Thumbnails and previews - cached preview data used to make browsing faster.
  • Disk analysis results - local summaries of selected folders so the app can show size and cleanup information.

Permissions

Workbench may request macOS permissions only when a feature needs them:

  • Files and folders - used when you choose folders, browse files, or run file tools.
  • Screen Recording - optional and used only for screenshot or screen recording tools.
  • Microphone - optional and used only for voice recording, voice notes, and narrated recordings.

These permissions are controlled by macOS and can be changed at any time in System Settings.

Purchases and updates

Workbench is sold through Gumroad. Purchase records, payment processing, download access, and Gumroad library updates are handled by Gumroad under Gumroad's own policies. Workbench may link you to your Gumroad library for updates.

What we do not do

  • We do not upload your files to QnSub.
  • We do not include analytics SDKs.
  • We do not include advertising SDKs.
  • We do not track you across apps or websites.
  • We do not sell or share your file data.
  • We do not require a Workbench account.

Deleting your data

Because Workbench stores app data locally, you can delete data inside the app where controls are available, remove saved notes or snippets, unpin folders, clear local caches when supported, or delete the app and its local support files from your Mac.

Backups

If you back up your Mac with Time Machine, iCloud, or another backup tool, Workbench local data may be included in those backups like other local app data. QnSub Tech does not see or control those backups.

Children

Workbench is a general macOS productivity utility. It does not include accounts, ads, social features, public user-generated content, or third-party tracking SDKs.

Changes to this policy

If Workbench privacy practices change, we will update this page and the effective date. Material changes, such as adding cloud sync or telemetry, will be highlighted.
