Parking Manager Privacy Policy
The short version: parking records stay on your device unless you export them or enable your own backend sync.
Effective: 2026-07-10
App: Parking Manager (com.qnsub.parkingmanager.app)
Publisher: QnSub Tech
Contact: support-parkingmanager@qnsub.com
This is a plain-English explanation of what Parking Manager does with your data. Parking Manager is local-first: QnSub Tech does not require an account, does not run plate detection on a QnSub server, and does not include advertising SDKs or analytics SDKs.
What Parking Manager stores on your device
Parking Manager stores app data locally using Apple's SwiftData framework, files in the app sandbox, Keychain where appropriate, and iOS preferences. This can include:
- Parking records - plate text, normalized plate, confidence values, capture time, source, review state, duplicate grouping, notes, tags, model version, and correction history.
- Parking stays - check-in/check-out times, vehicle type, payment status, payment method, cashier details, validations, adjustments, and calculated fee breakdowns.
- Media - snapshots, plate crops, or bystander-blurred images depending on your selected privacy save mode.
- Optional location tags - GPS coordinates and lot or zone labels, only when you enable location tagging.
- Saved plates and permits - permit mode, labels, notes, active status, paid-through dates, and daily/weekly/monthly allowance tracking.
- Priority lists and access rules - private plate lists and allow/restrict rules by weekday, time window, and plate ending.
- Fee settings - currency, first-period rates, hourly rates, grace minutes, overnight fees, daily caps, lost-ticket fees, time-of-day rates, and car/motorcycle schedules.
- Staff and security settings - selected staff role, local PIN hashes and salts when used, Face ID app lock preference, and app settings.
- Backend settings - if you enable Bring Your Own Backend, the server URL is stored locally and the API token is stored in the iOS Keychain.
Camera and on-device plate reading
Parking Manager uses the camera for live plate checks and parking check-ins. Camera frames are processed on device using Core ML plate localization and Apple Vision OCR. Frames are not uploaded to QnSub. A still image may be stored locally only when you save a parking record, and the saved image follows your selected privacy save mode.
Photo and video import
Parking Manager can import photos and videos you choose for on-device parking checks. The app only receives media you select. Imported media is processed locally, and media is saved only when you save a parking record or export a report that includes media.
Location
Location tagging is optional and off by default. If enabled, saved records may include GPS coordinates or a lot/zone label. If location tagging is off, Parking Manager does not attach GPS data to new records. You can change location permission at any time in iOS Settings.
Microphone
Parking Manager may ask for microphone access only when you choose to record a voice note for a saved parking record. Voice notes are stored locally unless you export them or send them through a backend you configure.
Face ID / Touch ID
If you enable App Lock, Parking Manager uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework to unlock protected records, exports, priority lists, permits, and settings. Parking Manager never sees or stores your biometric data. iOS handles authentication and returns only a success or failure result.
Cashier, permit, and staff data
Parking Manager can store fee schedules, payment status, cashier reports, staff role settings, saved permits, and audit records locally so parking teams can review shifts and settle stays. This information is not sent to QnSub by default.
Bring Your Own Backend sync
Bring Your Own Backend is optional and off by default. If enabled, Parking Manager can upload saved parking records and optional media to the HTTPS endpoint you configure, using the API token you store on your device.
The payload can include plate text, normalized plate, confidence values, capture time, source, session ID, tags, note, optional location, priority-list or access-rule match details, app version, model version, and optional media if you enable media upload. Because you choose the endpoint, data sent through Bring Your Own Backend is governed by that endpoint's operator.
Exports and sharing
Parking Manager can create local CSV, JSON, PDF, or ZIP exports for activity records, cashier reports, sessions, fee details, and optional media. These files are generated on your device and are shared only when you choose an export destination through iOS.
Purchases
Parking Manager is planned with a free tier and a one-time non-consumable Unlock Pro purchase. Purchases are handled by Apple. Parking Manager may store a local entitlement flag so the app can remember purchase state.
What we do not do
- We do not require a Parking Manager account.
- We do not use advertising SDKs.
- We do not use analytics SDKs.
- We do not sell plate, parking, cashier, permit, or location data.
- We do not run plate detection on a QnSub server.
- We do not look up vehicle owners or registration records.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual parking records inside Parking Manager. Retention settings can automatically delete older records and media. You can also uninstall the app; iOS removes the app's local data container when the app is deleted. If you enabled Bring Your Own Backend, delete synced data from the server you configured.
Children
Parking Manager is not directed to children under 13. It is intended for users who are allowed to scan or manage license plate and parking records in their role and location.
Operational note
Parking Manager is an operational parking aid, not a legal identity system, law-enforcement database, or payment processor. Confirm important reads, fees, and enforcement decisions according to your role, policies, and local law.
Changes to this policy
If Parking Manager's privacy practices change, we will update this page and the effective date. Material changes, such as adding analytics or a QnSub-hosted backend, will be highlighted.
