Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions we hear most often.

Is Orisonly free?

Yes. Every prayer in the library and every feature — narration, the Quick Random Prayer builder, saved prayers, daily reminders, and screen recording — is free. There is an optional "Support Orisonly" purchase that simply unlocks a thank-you page; nothing in the app is locked behind it.

Does Orisonly work without internet?

Yes. Every prayer text and all bundled AI Voice audio ship inside the app, and on-device narration uses your iPhone's built-in text-to-speech. Nothing about reading a prayer aloud needs a connection.

The narration voice sounds robotic. How do I get a better voice?

iOS ships only basic "Compact" voices by default. The richer Enhanced and Premium English voices are free downloads from Settings → Accessibility → Read & Speak → Voices → English. Once downloaded, open Orisonly → Settings and pick the new voice from the voice list.

What's the difference between "AI Voice" and "On-Device" voices?

AI Voice prayers ship with a pre-recorded, natural-sounding audio file inside the app and play locally. On-Device prayers are read by Apple's built-in text-to-speech using the iOS voice you chose. Both work fully offline.

How does "Record This Prayer" work?

In the prayer player, turn on Record This Prayer, then tap a play button. iOS shows its own "Allow Recording" dialog the first time. Orisonly uses Apple's ReplayKit to capture the screen and the app's audio (no microphone, no camera) while the prayer plays, then auto-stops when it finishes and saves the video to your Photos. Tap Open In Photos to view or share it.

I recorded a prayer but can't find the video.

When recording finishes, Orisonly saves the video to your Photos app automatically and shows an Open In Photos button. If you don't see it, make sure Orisonly has Photos "Add" permission in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Orisonly. (Screen recording is unreliable in the iOS Simulator — it works on a real device.)

The "Support Orisonly" option shows an error.

The optional support purchase is handled by Apple's StoreKit. If it ever shows "not available right now," it usually means the App Store couldn't reach Apple's servers momentarily — check your connection and try again later. Your prayer library is never affected.

How do I turn on the daily reminder?

Open Orisonly → Settings → Daily reminder, toggle it on, and pick a time. Orisonly schedules a local notification on your device. You can revoke it anytime in iOS Settings → Notifications → Orisonly.

How do I clear my saved prayers or reset onboarding?

From Orisonly → Settings: "Clear saved prayers" removes every bookmark, and "Replay onboarding" resets the first-launch walkthrough.

I want a refund.

App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Request a refund through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

What data does Orisonly collect?

None. There is no account, no server, no analytics, and no advertising. Everything stays on your device. The full policy is at /orisonly/privacy.
