Metro Manila PH is an iPhone app for city-aware driving context, traffic rules, hazards, reports, emergency contacts, and local Metro Manila information. It is designed to work without a QnSub account and to keep core settings and report drafts on the device.
What Metro Manila PH stores on your device
Metro Manila PH may store the following locally on the device:
- City and language settings - home city, current city choice, language, alert detail level, and notification preferences.
- Vehicle settings - vehicle nickname and plate-ending digit for number-coding checks.
- Drive preferences - whether background drive alerts are enabled for drives you explicitly start.
- Local reports and feedback - incident drafts, feedback records, traffic-trap report drafts, statuses, and related local notes.
- Local app data export - data you choose to export from the app for your own records or support.
Location
Metro Manila PH asks for location access to determine which Metro Manila city you are in and to provide route-relevant driving context. Routine city detection is designed to happen on the device. During a drive you explicitly start, the app may continue location-based route alerts while the screen is locked if you enable that option. Background location stops when you end the drive.
Microphone and speech recognition
Metro Manila PH may ask for microphone and speech-recognition access for voice commands you start explicitly, such as marking a hazard or incident while driving. The app is not designed to record audio secretly.
Notifications
Metro Manila PH may use local notifications for safety, weather, earthquake, route hazard, and report-update reminders. You can control notification purposes in the app and in iOS Settings.
Reports and submissions
Reports are designed to save locally first. If a future or configured report-submission endpoint is enabled, reports may be submitted only for that feature and may include the report details you choose to send, such as city, road context, report type, and notes. Reports are not proof of misconduct, and public or shared report handling requires moderation, privacy review, and abuse-prevention rules.
Network, analytics, and ads
Metro Manila PH does not require a QnSub account for core use. The app is designed without advertising SDKs. Network access may be used for configured report submission, content updates, Apple system services, support links, privacy links, and other features that clearly require network access.
What we do not do
- We do not require a Metro Manila PH account for core app use.
- We do not need your full license plate for number-coding checks.
- We do not sell local report, vehicle, or location data.
- We do not use advertising SDKs.
- We do not make reports public automatically.
- We do not replace official sources, emergency operators, or lawful traffic instructions.
iCloud and device backups
Data stored locally by Metro Manila PH may be included in normal device backups depending on your iOS, iCloud, and backup settings. Apple system services such as location permission, microphone permission, speech recognition, notifications, device backups, and App Store services are governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policies.
Deleting your data
Where app controls are available, you can delete local reports, feedback, traffic-trap reports, and local app settings. You can also delete Metro Manila PH from your iPhone to remove the app and its local data container. Device backups or exported copies must be deleted separately from the places where they were saved.
Safety and official-source note
Metro Manila PH is an independent application and is not an official government service unless a specific feature is identified as an authorized integration. Road signs, official advisories, lawful instructions, and emergency operators always prevail. The app is not legal advice, emergency dispatch, or a guarantee of road conditions.
Changes to this policy
If Metro Manila PH's privacy practices change, we will update this page with a new effective date. Material changes, such as adding account sync, analytics, public report publishing, or new report submission behavior, will be highlighted.
