Summary
Interview Coach does not require a QnSub account, sign-up, or email address. Practice records are primarily stored on your device. Audio never leaves the device. Cloud coaching, cloud résumé extraction, real-interview review, custom-topic generation, and premium voice are optional and stay off until you make the relevant choice.
What stays on your device
- Practice microphone audio: held in memory only while you answer, transcribed on the device, and never written to disk or uploaded.
- Real-interview recordings: stored in a protected local file, excluded from backups, until you delete the audio or interview. Imported temporary copies are deleted after on-device transcription.
- Transcripts, grades, reports, progress, sessions, custom topics, preferences, and consents: stored in protected local app files. They are excluded from backups unless you enable “Include in device backups.”
- Résumé and job-description content: read locally. Contact details are redacted before optional analysis, and only claims you confirm are kept in the local profile.
Optional cloud processing
The app makes no network request for interview content unless you enable a cloud feature and select it for the task. Requests pass through the Interview Coach backend on Cloudflare Workers.
The QnSub backend processes each request and returns the result without retaining interview content. Model-provider and ElevenLabs retention follows the applicable provider API and account terms. Turning consent off stops new transmissions; a request that has already completed cannot be unsent.
Credit wallet and purchases
The app sends Apple-signed app and purchase transaction proofs to the backend to maintain a credit wallet without an email account. The backend stores a pseudonymous wallet identifier, credit balance, purchase transaction identifiers, and debit records. Purchase and wallet records persist so credits survive reinstall and purchases cannot be redeemed twice. Debit metadata is retained for up to 31 days. Error logs use correlation identifiers and route names, not your answers. Apple processes payment credentials and maintains App Store transaction history.
Other network activity
- A daily App Store version lookup may send the bundle identifier and storefront context to Apple.
- Links you open yourself may go to Discord support, the App Store review page, or YouTube topic searches. YouTube searches contain only a topic included with the app, not your answers.
What Interview Coach does not do
- No advertising or third-party analytics SDK.
- No cross-app tracking and no App Tracking Transparency request.
- No QnSub account, public profile, sign-up, or email collection.
- No sale or sharing of data for advertising.
- No location, contacts, photo-library, or camera permission.
- No score represented as a hiring probability, certification, or employer decision.
Delete your data
Delete an individual session, custom topic, real-interview record, or all practice data inside the app. Settings > Reset to Factory Settings deletes local practice records, recordings, transcripts, reports, progress, profile data, preferences, consents, and simulated development purchases. Deleting local data does not erase Apple transaction history, completed provider requests, purchased production credits, the pseudonymous server wallet, or its anti-duplication purchase ledger. Children
Interview Coach is intended for adults preparing for professional interviews and is not directed to children under 13.
