What devices does Dog Buddy support?
Dog Buddy is built for iPhone on iOS 17 or later.
What is included for free?
Free mode supports one dog profile, essential care logs, up to five routines, critical profile information, a limited private album, collar QR, emergency card, App Lock, raw JSON export, and the app showcase.
What does Dog Buddy Lifetime unlock?
Lifetime is a one-time non-consumable purchase. It unlocks multiple dog profiles, unlimited routines, health records, medications, vaccinations, appointments, caregiver notes, document OCR, GPS walks, PDF health summaries, and expanded album storage.
Does Dog Buddy need an account?
No. Dog Buddy is designed around local, offline-first records. Apple services may be needed for purchases, restore purchases, and normal device behavior.
Why does GPS walk tracking need the app open?
Dog Buddy records GPS walks in the foreground. Keep the app open during a walk so it can record route points, duration, and distance reliably.
Are camera, photos, and location required?
No single permission is required for every workflow. Camera supports dog photos, breed scanning, and document scanning. The system Photos picker shares only selected items. Location When In Use supports foreground GPS walks.
Is the breed scanner a DNA or veterinary result?
No. Breed results are visual estimates from on-device analysis. They are not DNA results, veterinary findings, or guaranteed breed identification.
Does Dog Buddy provide veterinary advice?
No. Dog Buddy organizes information you enter. It does not diagnose, prescribe, recommend medication doses, or replace a veterinarian.
