Dog Buddy is a private, offline-first iPhone organizer for dog profiles, everyday care, health records, walks, documents, photos, and exports. It does not require a QnSub account and does not include advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or a custom QnSub network service for core records.
Data stored on your device
Dog Buddy stores dog-care information locally, including dog profiles, care logs, routines, health records, caregiver contacts, scanned text, photos, video clips, GPS walk routes, emergency details, QR fields, exports, and preferences.
Photos and camera
Photos and clips you select are copied into Dog Buddy's private app storage. Camera access is requested only when you choose a camera feature, such as dog photos, breed scanning, or document scanning. The system Photos picker shares only items you select.
Location
Location When In Use is requested only for foreground GPS walk tracking. Dog Buddy stores route coordinates and distance locally and does not transmit your route to QnSub or third parties.
App Lock
Dog Buddy can use device-owner authentication, such as Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode, for optional App Lock. Biometric authentication is handled by iOS.
Purchases
Dog Buddy Lifetime purchases and restores are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Dog Buddy receives verified entitlement information from Apple but does not receive or store your Apple Account credentials, payment card, or billing details.
Exports and sharing
Raw JSON exports, PDF health summaries, saved QR images, and other exported files are controlled by you after they leave Dog Buddy. If you share or save exported files elsewhere, that destination's privacy practices apply.
What we do not do
- We do not require a Dog Buddy account.
- We do not sell dog-care records, routes, photos, scans, or health notes.
- We do not include advertising SDKs.
- We do not include third-party analytics SDKs.
- We do not upload your dog profiles, care logs, GPS routes, document text, or album media to QnSub.
- We do not track users across apps or websites.
Device backups and deletion
Local Dog Buddy data may be included in normal iPhone backups depending on your iOS, iCloud, and backup settings. Deleting Dog Buddy removes its local app container unless iOS restores it from a device backup. Exported files and previously saved QR images must be deleted from wherever you saved or shared them.
Veterinary note
Dog Buddy organizes information you enter. It does not diagnose symptoms, prescribe treatment, recommend medication doses, or replace a veterinarian. Contact a qualified professional for medical concerns.
Changes to this policy
If Dog Buddy's privacy practices change, we will update this page with a new effective date. Material changes, such as adding cloud sync, analytics, advertising, or a QnSub account system, will be highlighted.
