DapitLink Privacy Policy
Local-first nearby sharing, with clear user controls.
Effective: 2026-06-30
App: DapitLink (com.dapitlink.app)
Publisher: QnSub Tech
Contact: dapitlink@qnsub.com
DapitLink helps nearby people coordinate through local rooms, chat, polls, image sharing, help pings, marketplace posts, private car awareness, and public transport signals. The app is designed to be local-first: it does not require an account, and QnSub Tech does not include advertising SDKs or analytics SDKs in the app.
Important: DapitLink is a sharing app. When you post a message, image, poll, help ping, shop listing, route signal, or driver/passenger update, you are intentionally sharing that content with nearby DapitLink users and, depending on your selected data mode, through online transport features where available.
What DapitLink stores on your device
DapitLink may store the following locally on your iPhone or iPad:
- Handle and profile settings - your generated or custom handle, visibility state, room choices, data mode, and app preferences.
- Nearby room content - messages, pinned announcements, reactions, image posts, polls, poll votes, help pings, local reports, and lightweight nearby offers.
- Private car settings - optional plate number, car profile fields, road presets, private road messages, and optional short voice clips.
- Public transport signals - optional passenger intent, route, direction, vehicle type, driver capacity, plate number, and public driver/passenger messages.
- Shop posts - custom seller handle, store name, item name, sale price, original price, category, details, sale image, post status, and expiry/repost state.
- Safety controls - hidden, muted, blocked, flagged, or reported local handles and content identifiers.
- Diagnostics - short-lived connectivity state, data mode, validation failures, and nearby transport status used to explain whether Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, local network, or online mode is being used.
Nearby sharing and peer-to-peer transport
DapitLink uses Apple's Multipeer Connectivity stack, Bluetooth, peer-to-peer Wi-Fi, local network access, and Bonjour discovery to find nearby visible users and exchange small nearby signals while the app is open.
Content you send may be visible to other nearby DapitLink users in the same room or route context. Nearby users may also be able to relay small messages across a limited number of hops so the original sender can reach people slightly farther away. DapitLink cannot prevent another user from taking screenshots, saving content, or sharing what they receive outside the app.
Location
DapitLink asks for location while the app is open to attach approximate local context to rooms, public transport demand, driver/passenger signals, private car awareness, weather, earthquake context, and help ping map context.
When online data is allowed, approximate coordinates may be used with external services such as Apple Maps, Open-Meteo, or USGS so the app can show route/map context, weather, rain, heat, and earthquake information. These services are governed by their own privacy policies.
Photos and camera
DapitLink uses Photos only when you choose an image to share or attach to a poll or shop post. The selected image may be compressed and shared with nearby users if you send it.
DapitLink uses the camera to scan optional QR codes for rooms, handles, and trusted groups. QR scanning is processed on device.
Microphone and speech recognition
DapitLink uses the microphone only when you start dictation or record an optional voice update. Speech recognition is used to turn spoken messages into text before sending. Short voice clips are shared only when you choose to send or use a walkie-talkie style feature.
Contacts and trusted groups
DapitLink does not upload your address book. Trusted groups such as Family, Office, or School are created by scanning another DapitLink user's QR code or saving a nearby handle inside the app. These group labels are stored locally on your device.
Weather, earthquakes, and local reports
Weather and earthquake cards may use online data sources when your data mode allows it. Nearby reports such as flood, hazard, outage, crowd status, lost-and-found, and offers are user-generated and should be treated as contextual information, not official emergency alerts.
What we do not do
- We do not require an account.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use advertising SDKs.
- We do not use analytics SDKs.
- We do not collect payment card details, government IDs, account passwords, or phone contacts.
- We do not contact emergency services on your behalf.
Retention and expiry
DapitLink is designed around short-lived local content. Passenger waiting signals, help pings, nearby posts, shop sale posts, polls, shared images, and pinned announcements expire after a limited time in the app. Some local history, safety filters, settings, and diagnostics may remain on your device until you delete the app or clear the relevant settings.
User controls
You can change visibility, switch data modes, cancel help pings, delete or remove your own local content where supported, hide content, mute or block handles, report problematic content, and revoke permissions in iOS Settings.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling DapitLink removes the app and its local data container from your device. Content already received by other nearby users may remain on their devices until it expires or is deleted by their app.
Children
DapitLink is not directed to children under 13. Nearby sharing, marketplace posts, and transport coordination should be used with appropriate supervision.
Safety
DapitLink is not a booking, payment, escrow, official government, emergency response, or exact vehicle-tracking app. Help Ping is a nearby signal only. For urgent danger, call local emergency services.
Changes to this policy
If DapitLink's privacy practices change, we will update this page with a new effective date. Material changes, such as adding a hosted backend or analytics, will be reflected here.
