What devices does Cat Buddy support?
The current Cat Buddy project is built for iPhone on iOS 17 or later.
What is implemented in the current build?
The current foundation includes onboarding, four main tabs, SwiftData persistence, cat profiles, selected-cat context, care logs, routines, wellness checks, medication records, profile photos, on-device breed scanning, settings, paywall support, dark mode, accessibility, and factory reset controls.
Does Cat Buddy need an account?
No. Core care works without a mandatory account, ads, or tracking SDK.
What does Cat Buddy Lifetime mean?
Cat Buddy Lifetime is planned as a one-time non-consumable purchase handled through StoreKit. The app includes a provider abstraction and purchase UI so production builds can use verified Apple transactions.
Why do some settings say coming soon?
Cat Buddy is newly created and some platform-backed modules are still implementation gates, such as iCloud sharing, richer export center, notifications, widgets, and additional system integrations.
Is the breed scanner private?
The current scanner uses camera or selected photos for private, on-device visual breed analysis. Results are visual estimates, not DNA tests or veterinary conclusions.
Does Cat Buddy provide medical advice?
No. Cat Buddy organizes observations and records. It does not diagnose, prescribe, calculate medication or insulin doses, or replace a veterinarian.
