Cat Buddy is an iPhone app for cat profiles, care logs, routines, wellness checks, medication records, profile photos, breed scanning, settings, and purchase status. The current implementation is designed to work without a mandatory account, advertising SDK, tracking SDK, or QnSub cloud service for core care records.

Data stored on your device

Cat Buddy may store cat profiles, care events, routines, wellness checks, medication records, selected profile photos, app settings, onboarding state, and purchase state locally on your device using Apple platform storage.

Camera and photos

Camera or selected-photo access is used only when you choose photo or breed-scanning features. Breed scanning is on-device visual analysis and does not create DNA, veterinary, or diagnostic results.

Purchases

Cat Buddy Lifetime purchase and restore flows are handled through Apple StoreKit. Cat Buddy receives verified entitlement status from Apple but does not receive or store your Apple Account credentials, payment card, or billing details.

Network, analytics, and ads

Cat Buddy has no mandatory account, no advertising SDK, no cross-app tracking, and no third-party health-data analytics. Core care records do not depend on a QnSub backend.

Future sync and sharing

The product roadmap includes optional iCloud sync and sharing features. If those modules ship, this page will be updated to explain exactly what data is synced or shared, how permissions work, and how users can delete or revoke shared access.

What we do not do

  • We do not require a Cat Buddy account for core care.
  • We do not sell cat-care records, health notes, photos, or medication information.
  • We do not include advertising SDKs.
  • We do not track users across apps or websites.
  • We do not upload your cat records to QnSub as part of the current core app behavior.
  • We do not use breed-scanning images for training or analytics.

Device backups and reset

Local Cat Buddy data may be included in normal iPhone backups depending on your iOS, iCloud, and backup settings. Cat Buddy includes reset controls for local records, preferences, notification schedules, and onboarding state. A reset does not cancel, refund, or permanently erase a real StoreKit purchase.

Cat Buddy is an organizational tool and is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Contact a veterinarian or emergency veterinary service when you are concerned about your cat's health.

Changes to this policy

If Cat Buddy's privacy practices change, we will update this page with a new effective date. Material changes, such as adding sync, sharing, analytics, advertising, or a QnSub account system, will be highlighted.
